DeFi Retreats host annual international gatherings aimed at fostering dialogue between government authorities and entrepreneurs, with a focus on blockchain-based financial services.
Set for June 10-11, 2024, in Paris, France, DeFi Retreat Europe is organized by TET event, founded by entrepreneur Alex Pelin in 2019. TET specializes in hosting international gatherings for the Fintech and DeFi industry under the Chatham House Rule, allowing participants to freely use information acquired at the event without disclosing its source.

The DeFi Retreat gatherings rethink the traditional conference setting. You will exit the confines of large conference halls and impersonal hotel rooms, and enter secluded, informal locations that offer an ambiance that encourages genuine connections to thrive, states Alex Pelin.
TET event is renowned for its exclusive club meetings with a select guest list. The Paris DeFi Retreat in 2024 is preceded by the Fintech Retreat North America and the DeFi Retreat APAC in Japan. Another DeFi Retreat is planned in the North American region by year-end, alongside two Financial Club gatherings in San Francisco and New York (USA).
The upcoming DeFi Retreat Europe aims to convene around 150 executives from the fintech sphere, venture investment firms, financial institutions, legal entities, and regulators from the Asia-Pacific region, the USA, and Europe.
Speakers and discussion leaders include:
- Vanessa Grellet, Managing Partner at Aglaé Ventures
- Jarod Koopman, Executive Director of Cyber and Forensics for IRS-Criminal Investigation
- Lily Liu, President of the Management at Solana Foundation
- Nathan Catania, Partner at XReg Consulting
- Erwin Voloder, Head of Policy at the European Blockchain Association
