The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office has accused Steven Kramer, a political consultant for the Democrats, of orchestrating the robocalls that utilized artificial intelligence to imitate President Biden's voice. Kramer was employed by Dean Phillips, who is competing against the sitting president in the primary elections.

Kramer faces 26 charges: 13 criminal (voter suppression) and 13 administrative (impersonation). Furthermore, the Federal Communications Commission plans to fine him $6 million, and Lingo Telecom, the company that handled the calls, $2 million.
I hope that our respective enforcement actions send a strong deterrent signal to anyone who might consider interfering with elections, whether through the use of artificial intelligence or otherwise,
stated Attorney General Formella.
Kramer described his actions as a planned act of civil disobedience to demonstrate the dangers of artificial intelligence. He claims he achieved a notable effect for just $500, compared to the usual cost of such campaigns, which is over $5 million.
