🚀 14th Birthday of the Bitcoin Logo
posted 3 hr ago
Bitcoin’s legendary logo, now an emblem of the digital economy, celebrates its anniversary on November 1. Today, it turns a proud 14 years old!
The logo first surfaced on BitcoinTalk in 2010, when a user named bitboy (not to be mistaken for the influencer of the same name) shared his now-famous design—a bold white “B” against an orange backdrop.
The initial logos were quite basic compared to today’s. Back on February 24, 2010, Satoshi introduced a concept of a gold coin bearing a dollar-inspired “₿” symbol. He left the door open for feedback and encouraged users to submit their own ideas in the forum.

What’s remarkable is that this popular logo isn’t Bitcoin’s original. The first design was actually suggested by Bitcoin’s creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, though bitboy’s work is what ultimately resonated with the community.

Almost a year later, bitboy presented his updated logo, where the gold coin was swapped for today’s famous orange circle, and the “₿” symbol received a 14-degree tilt to the right.
