Despite the fact that 2022 was quite difficult for the cryptocurrency market, it still felt like there were great opportunities in this industry. The sector of metaverses and Web3 began to attract more attention.
Recently, the CoinWire team conducted a survey among 10,000 cryptocurrency users, showing that 69% of them believe in replacing their social life with leisure in the metaverse. And about half of them believe that the metaverse will affect other areas, such as education, finance or business.

Well-known companies such as Meta, Microsoft, Nike, Nvidia and many others also make a big bet on this industry. In this regard, Microsoft holds the leading position. Over the past 5 years, the corporation has received 158 metaverse related patents. Samsung Electronics follows with 122 patents for metaverse products.

Another survey data shows that half of the investors are not sure that they understand the exact meaning of the term Web3. And as many as 60% want the industry to have more rules that would make it well regulated and transparent.

The World Economic Forum (WEF 2023) presented its new initiative called “Defining and Building the Metaverse”. More than 120 countries have joined it. The first two documents of the initiative were presented, concerning governance, interaction and the role of the consumer in the metaverse of the future.

In general, this sector of the crypto industry is gaining momentum, as the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023 shows. The event has showcased a range of innovations in virtual reality experience, namely the sense of smell and feeling of touch.
