posted 23 Jan 2024
MIT researchers have concluded that artificial intelligence, at least for the time being, is only capable of replacing about 23% of the workforce in an economically viable manner. The study predominantly focused on roles that involve object visual recognition.
The reason behind this limited replacement capability is the high costs associated with AI training and maintenance compared to the cost of human labor. But, there is an expectation that this scenario may change gradually, especially in industries like retail and storage, as AI technology evolves.
