Cropin Technology, a company specializing in artificial intelligence within the agricultural sector, has launched Sage—a new tool designed for crop yield forecasting. This tool leverages the Google Gemini model and analyzes historical agricultural data to provide real-time forecasts for 13 different crops.

Sage employs a wealth of data in its operations, including climate conditions, soil characteristics, past harvests, and other relevant metrics to craft detailed plans for the upcoming season or even for a five-year period. The company asserts that about 4.8 billion hectares of agricultural land globally are suitable for Sage’s analysis and forecasting capabilities.
To predict the future of a particular crop is a major leap, and we see entire industries go into turbulence on account of shortfall in say, cocoa or orange crop,
said Krishna Kumar, Cropin’s founder and CEO.
Users can also interact with Sage by posing questions about the forecasts in any language. The company believes this innovation will be invaluable to a broad spectrum of clients, including major producers and even some countries that depend heavily on successful agricultural sales.
