Ubisoft, collaborating with Integral Reality Labs (IRL), is set to unveil an exclusive range of Assassin’s Creed Smart Collectibles for the game's enthusiasts. The company aims to provide an option to acquire not just a digital asset, but a tangible collectible as well.
Each collectible is underpinned by a "digital soul," which holds a unique non-fungible token (NFT) within the Polygon network. This "soul" can be personalized via the Soul Customizer, an interactive 3D editing page. Depending on its rarity, a myriad of clothing options, weapons, and character poses will be available. Following this, you can request the creation of a one-of-a-kind souvenir in the form of a transparent cube, housing a game figurine within.

This approach effectively establishes a connection between the two collectible forms, with its manifestation going beyond the visual aspect. Each cube possesses a unique Authentic Vision identifier confirming its authenticity, and an NFC chip connected to the "digital soul". Upon scanning, it will display in a special IRL application. Future developments include the introduction of various interactive features: challenges, accomplishments, and level advancement, enabling the unlocking of formulas for the creation of new items.

Moreover, Ubisoft intends to release 1,500 restricted Pieces of Eden Passes. These passes will grant access to exclusive features, limited "digital souls", and a queue-free experience when producing a physical embodiment of a character. This will act as a valuable enhancement for users.

Overall, the team's outlook is positive, forecasting a very brief purchasing window for "digital souls" due to high demand. However, the official commencement date and pricing have yet to be announced. It appears many might not manage to procure NFTs from the primary platform in time, and may need to consider the secondary marketplaces (OpenSea, Blur).
Our goal is to add new layers of collecting to allow fans to truly showcase their personality and rarity tastes. Digital identifiers pairing with physical identifiers will allow for this,

Let's also remember that despite Ubisoft's favorable stance towards blockchain technology, the team has previously faced setbacks, notably with the game Recon: Breakpoint. The project was discontinued due to users struggling to grasp the technology. It's hoped that this time around, they will succeed in delivering a top-notch product.
