Beeple and Christie's Open Digital Art Gallery in Charleston
In the past, digital artworks were limited to the virtual realm. But now, physical digital galleries are emerging worldwide, and one of them is Beeple Studio, launched by the artist Beeple and the auction house Christie's.
Beeple Studio is an innovative, 50,000-square-foot exhibition space located in Charleston, South Carolina. Here, visionary artist Beeple creates breathtaking works, while also hosting educational and entertaining events dedicated to digital art and the Web3.
Beeple Studio had its grand opening on March 11, with the esteemed presence of Christie's, a world-renowned leader in the art market and one of the largest auction houses. Unlike traditional parties where guests view digital works of celebrities on screens, Beeple Studio offered a completely new format.
Beeple Studio provided emerging digital artists with an opportunity to showcase their works alongside renowned names in the industry such as XCOPY, Refik Anadol, Blake Kathryn, Fvckrender, and others. Aspiring artists had the chance to apply before February 1st and compete for a spot in the carefully curated exhibit, which was meticulously planned with attention to detail.
To fully appreciate the digital art on display, the artworks were projected onto the walls and columns of the venue. Multiple screens played videos simultaneously, creating a cohesive composition within the expansive space.

The Beeple Studio is not only equipped with a spacious exhibition area but also features a gallery and an experimental art space that spans 13,000 square feet. The creators of the project intend to use all of these spaces to host a diverse range of presentations by digital artists, as well as public events that may not be feasible in other venues.
Currently, access to the Beeple Studio is only partially open to visitors. Those interested in visiting the studio are required to register in advance and select from the available time slots to secure their visitation time.

Beeple gained wide recognition in 2021 when his NFT artwork titled "Everydays: The First 5000 Days" was sold at a Christie's auction for $69.3 million. This work belongs to the "everyday" trend in 3D graphics, a movement pioneered by Beeple himself. For over a decade, Beeple has been creating and sharing an image online every day. In February of this year, all the artworks from his "First 5000 Days" project were compiled and published in a book bearing the same title.
