🌋 Binance Entangled in a New Legal Battle Over Terrorism Claims
posted 1 Feb 2024
Three American families, victims of a Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th, have filed a lawsuit against Iran, Syria, and the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, including its former CEO Changpeng Zhao.
The complaint accuses Iran and Syria of providing arms and financial support to Hamas, and alleges that Binance facilitated the group's transactions. The plaintiffs are seeking compensation as per the provisions of the U.S. Anti-Terrorism Act.
"Incredibly, Binance went out of its way to protect users associated with Hamas and other terrorist groups from regulatory scrutiny, especially if they were “VIP” users who generated huge profits for Binance," the lawsuit details.
