🚀 BNB Chain Rolls Out BEP 336 and a New L2 Service on BSC
posted 14 Mar 2024
BNB Chain has unveiled an array of BEP 336 updates, drawing inspiration from Ethereum's EIP 4844 (Dencun), a topic we explored in a dedicated article.
The plan for the BSC blockchain involves adopting temporary blob objects for capturing large chunks of data, up to 128 KB. This innovation is poised to accelerate transaction speeds and reduce costs, which will also positively impact the opBNB network that utilizes BSC for data storage.
A testnet launch is on the calendar for April, followed by the mainnet release in June. The rollout will be phased to ensure a smooth transition.
Furthermore, the project has launched RaaS (rollup as a service), a feature that empowers developers to build L2 networks on the BSC platform. This mirrors services provided on the Ethereum network by platforms such as Polygon, Arbitrum, and Optimism.
