✨ Brian Armstrong Criticizes SEC Once Again
posted 30 Nov 2023
He revealed that Coinbase has participated in 30 meetings with the SEC over the past year and a half.
“We
haven’t received much feedback from them regarding which assets they
consider securities and which they do not, except for Bitcoin,” he noted.
This regulatory uncertainty has prompted Coinbase to explore international opportunities.
As
a counterweight, Armstrong highlighted the UK’s favorable stance on
crypto under Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, describing it as “pro-crypto”
and expressing a collective desire to establish the UK as a hub for
crypto and Web3 technologies.
“Coinbase has already created around 200 high-tech, highly-paid jobs in the UK, and we’d like to do more,” he added.
