The Enigma Diamond Acquired by a Crypto Fraudster
The world's largest black diamond was auctioned off at Sotheby's last year, with the transaction conducted in cryptocurrency. The formerly anonymous buyer has now been identified as the well-known cryptocurrency scammer, Richard Heart.
The world’s priciest black diamond is known as “The Enigma.” This exceptionally rare, cut stone has a substantial weight of 555.55 carats. It entered the Guinness Book of Records in 2006 and has since been regarded as one of the most enticing investment-grade gems available. Its uniqueness does not lie in its substantial size but in its irregular shape. To convert “The Enigma” into a piece of jewelry, the stone would need to be split into several portions. Notably, the total value of all the fragments would surpass the price of the intact stone if they were to be used to craft a luxurious set or necklace.

Additionally, black diamonds are believed to be the oldest stones on our planet. Experts estimate their age to exceed 3 billion years, theorizing their formation resulted from a meteorite impact on Earth.
Who owns “The Enigma” diamond?
It has recently come to light that the enigmatic buyer who paid $4.3 million in cryptocurrency for the black diamond in February 2022 is none other than Richard Heart. Richard is a well-known business consultant specializing in digital asset investments, a coach, and a YouTuber.
On his channel, Heart often prefers showcasing new Rolex unboxings and comparing the merits of Lamborghini over Bentley rather than delving into crypto market analyses. Nonetheless, his videos have gained popularity and have been well-received by newcomers to cryptocurrency.
However, Heart experienced monumental success when he started promoting HEX – a project enabling cryptocurrency mining without equipment or electricity.
The situation's irony lies in Heart's openness about the promoted token's lack of intrinsic value, even while proclaiming it as “a superior cryptocurrency to Bitcoin.” He even mockingly labeled the project as the “HEX Ponzi Scheme.” Concurrently, he flaunted his possessions on YouTube, claiming ownership of “the world's largest diamond, the swiftest Ferrari, and the most luxurious Rolex ever crafted,” but this display did not dissuade his devoted followers.
When it surfaced that HEX earned Heart a billion-dollar income, fueled by his subscribers’ greed, the self-proclaimed “forthright swindler” was brought before the court, as he made no attempts to escape the law.

How Richard Heart’s Trial Unfolded
The trial sessions resembled a theater of the absurd. Prosecutors accused Richard of fraud, and, remarkably, his lawyers didn’t even attempt to dispute it. Instead, they demanded an independent psychological assessment to demonstrate that their client didn’t hide his fraudulent actions and openly admitted his intent to profit from the hype, while those who invested were simply hoping to get their windfall and exit the scheme in time.
Heeding the lawyers' request, the court brought in a psychological expert. Dr. Hans Fredrik Betruger devoted numerous hours to examining videos from Heart's YouTube channel, the HEX website content, and his Twitter posts. After this comprehensive analysis, the expert concluded there was “no biological basis for believing that any human being—even the most inexperienced or unintelligent among us—could possibly believe HEX was anything other than a scam.”
Subsequently, the jury decided that Richard Heart was not guilty because it’s untenable to charge a person with fraud who openly proclaims to the world that he is a masterful con artist.

What is “The Enigma’s” Owner Up to Now?
Richard Heart, with a total of half a million followers on X (Twitter), YouTube, TikTok, and Telegram, has deleted all his posts mentioning the HEX token. He also deactivated his Instagram account and has ceased uploading videos on YouTube for the time being.
Nevertheless, Heart isn't one to fade into the background. He's gathered a group of filmmakers to craft a documentary centered around his favorite subject: himself. The working title of the film is “The Highest of Stakes.”
After the specifics of his extravagant purchase were revealed, he enticed his fans with promises of upcoming thrilling ventures.
And it appears there will be no shortage of eager adventurers ready to embark on these upcoming journeys.
