Chat GPT banned in Italy
This decision was made after the Italian Data Protection Agency announced it was launching a full investigation into OpenAI.
American developers of the application are accused of multiple violations related to collecting users' personal information.
- The robot does not verify the age of its “conversation partners”. In Italy, the restriction on the use of uncensored materials is set at 13 years old and above.
- The company is not complying with the GDPR.
- Cybercriminals are using Chat GPT to spread malicious software through advertising on Facebook and other social networks.
The agency emphasizes that this is a temporary measure and access for Italian users to OpenAI's product will be restored as soon as the project team addresses these violations.
“Now that ChatGPT is banned in Italy, I hear rumors PastaGPT will go live soon. Your personal assistant on how long cook pasta”, said Paolo Ardoino, Bitfinex and Tether CTO.
Many consider the situation with the chatbot to be a dangerous problem. For example, Elon Musk, Steve Wozniak, and over a thousand other tech experts have started collecting signatures under an open letter calling for the suspension of Chat GPT development.
