posted 30 Oct 2023
A cryptocurrency enthusiast from Tanzania, who goes by the pseudonym Kweks, successfully climbed the tallest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro, covering all associated expenses solely through Bitcoin donations.
To raise funds, he utilized the Bitcoin Lightning Network and other projects, including the decentralized protocol Nostr and the crowdfunding platform Geyser Fund, which helped him raise approximately $1,700.
"I thought it would be a great case study to show what Bitcoin can do and then introduce some people to Bitcoin as well," Kweks explained.
