CrowdStrike doesn’t agree with the claims though.

Delta’s claims are based on disproven misinformation, demonstrate a lack of understanding of how modern cybersecurity works, and reflect a desperate attempt to shift blame for its slow recovery away from its failure to modernize its antiquated IT infrastructure,”
According to CNN, Delta’s lawsuit was filed in Fulton County Superior Court on October 25. The incident happened on July 19, 2024, when, as Delta claims, the faulty software caused more than 8.5 million Microsoft Windows-based computers around the world to crash.

Delta raised the issue before filing the lawsuit. Earlier letters between the companies show that CrowdStrike apologized to Delta while rejecting the allegations. CrowdStrike stated that they reached out to Delta to offer assistance within hours of the incident but received no response.
CrowdStrike also claims that other airlines were impacted but managed to restore operations much faster, suggesting minimal liability on their part.
