📣 $58,000 From Memecoins: Teen Strikes Gold on pump.fun

posted  20 Nov 2024
pump.fun user @Fi2hrx, revealed to be a high schooler, created Gen Z Quant (ticker QUANT) on November 20. Promoting his coin via livestream, he managed to sell 51 million tokens for $29,600.
Even though the "developer" cashed out his QUANT tokens and ended the stream early, the community kept the hype alive. QUANT's market cap peaked at $83 million and currently hovers at $66 million.

Had the student waited to sell, his tokens could have been valued at $3.7 million.

Of note, a user—possibly a bot or someone coaching the developer—snapped up 18.8 million QUANT tokens within a minute of minting, spending just $461 in SOL.

He went on to sell roughly 4 million QUANT across four transactions, netting $35,000 in total.

Another 4 million tokens were sent to an unknown wallet, while 11 million QUANT, valued at $713,000, remain in his public wallet.

After QUANT’s impressive debut, the high schooler minted two more meme coins: im sorry (SORRY) and my dog lucy (LUCY). He spent $350 on SORRY’s creation and later sold it for $12,888.

Using another $350, he minted LUCY, which earned him $15,300.

As of publication, both tokens are still being traded. SORRY boasts a market cap of $1.3 million, while LUCY is valued at $1.6 million. The teen has since sold all his holdings.
