Remember the boring days when you had to cut out different outfits to create stylish looks for your paper models? They’re over.
It’s time to buckle up and go on a fashion ride.

DREST, a gaming company that, according to its site, merges the creative worlds of luxury fashion, beauty and lifestyle with the infinite possibilities of the metaverse, is offering just that.

Having partnered with the Copenhagen Fashion Week, which is now in full swing, it is offering
to style unique and fashionable avatars.

We decided to explore how it works in our article.

Ready to become a top stylist?

Registration-wise, the app is pretty straightforward, so you shouldn’t have trouble doing that.

Once you’re done logging in, you’ll be offered to complete different challenges and taken directly to the dressing room where you’ll get to pick the model you like best. The app offers an array of options to choose from so go ahead and pick the shape, race, and size that speaks to you.

After that, you’ll get to choose the look. Each item comes from a luxury brand such as Manolo Blahnik, Burberry, Stella McCartney, and others.

It also has a specific price, with the app’s native currency used to purchase it for your models.

Once you have picked an outfit and submitted it for  review, you’ll get an assessment from the app.

We turned in several outfits and most of them scored above 4 stars. Do we qualify to be Carrie Bradshaw’s next stylist because of this?

Maybe but probably not because our bets are too safe. Carrie prefers her outfits much spicier.

The idea behind submitting these outfits is that every time you do that, you receive an assessment in return and collect points.

There are different challenges available for completion, with different styling requirements. Like the one featuring Zoë Kravitz where you have to find a new way of combining black with… black.

To participate you need to pay an entry fee before getting a reward.

If you are too lazy to complete different challenges are you are just on your way to becoming a top stylist, you can always purchase different packages that will allow you to use app to the fullest. The pricing starts at $5.99.

Yay or Nay?

After playing around with the app for some time, we can safely say that it’s a cool one.

Everything – from the interface to designs and more – is of high-quality. As a result, you find yourself glued to the screen, choosing various looks that don’t appear artificial

We also managed to spot the pigeon bag. Yes, the very same pigeon bag that already appeared in one of our articles about Bitcoin in the remake of the Sex and the City dubbed And Just like That. Check out what it’s all about here.

The app could be especially cool for those wanting to work in the fashion industry, providing the first platform for experimenting with styles and having them reviewed by others.

Or it’s just a fun way to kill some time in the metaverse and compete with others via the @Drest community on Instagram. That also works.
