🌋 Forcount Evangelist to Stand Trial
posted 6 Jun 2024
Juan Tacuri has pleaded guilty to promoting the Forcount crypto Ponzi scheme and misleading investors.
Authorities have identified Tacuri as one of the most effective promoters of the scam. He traveled across America, attending public events to offer people "financial freedom" through investments in Forcount, while flaunting alleged wealth gained from investments.
Forcount, later known as Weltsys, primarily targeted Spanish-speaking communitiesin the U.S., offering fake opportunities in crypto mining and trading with promises of daily profits and doubling investments within six months. Instead, it was a classic Ponzi scheme, using new investors' funds to pay earlier participants and the fraudsters' expenses.
For his involvement, Tacuri must pay $4 million and forfeit properties bought with the victims' money. He also faces up to 20 years in prison.
Tacuri’s trial is scheduled for September 24, 2024.
