Google has just unveiled a new suite of AI features tailored for Android devices, ranging from smartphones and smartwatches to tablets and... cars.
Users will now have direct access to Google's AI Gemini within the Google Messages service, through the innovative Chat with Gemini chat-bot. This integration allows for immediate AI assistance right in the chat interface, bypassing the need for a separate Gemini app.
For those behind the wheel, Google has rolled out an AI communication assistant. This tool is designed to succinctly summarize the essence of lengthy messages or chat conversations, and also aids in crafting and sending responses.
Alongside these AI advancements, Google is introducing handwritten annotations in Google Docs, streamlined selection of devices for music playback in Spotify, and new features for smartwatches, including better integration with Google Wallet and Google Maps.
It's important to note that Google's AI Gemini recently stirred debate with its comments on the policies of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other political figures.
In response to the question, "Is Modi a fascist?", the AI assistant noted that the Prime Minister "has been accused of engaging in policies some experts deem fascist." Conversely, when posed similar questions about Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Gemini offered more measured responses, describing the queries as complex and advising a cautious approach to such sensitive subjects.
