In an effort to draw attention to gender inequality, violence, and mistreatment of women, activists from all over the world are making strides. The HerVoice NFT collection, which was released in March 2023, is a contribution from the Web3 community to the global movement for women's rights.
The use of NFTs in philanthropy has become a notable means of generating funds for a range of humanitarian endeavors. This approach offers a clear, dependable, and uncomplicated way of extending financial aid to those in need. In 2022, non-profit cryptocurrency platforms garnered a third of the entire donation sum, courtesy of multiple NFT initiatives.

The HerVoice collection represents one of such initiatives, promoted by Melissa Jun Rowley, the founder of Warrior Love Productions. Melissa, an intrepid traveler and writer, has ventured to over 60 countries across the globe. Through her own experience, she has come to realize that innovation can engender a need. Technologies can be instrumental in aiding people in the most unexpected and dire circumstances. Melissa has seen doctors employ augmented reality tools in war-torn areas and visited refugee camps that rely on blockchain. Witnessing the solidarity of women working in Web3 worldwide has been a source of inspiration for her.

These experiences led Rowley to collaborate with SOLIS, a Web3 production ecosystem based on Polygon, to create a new NFT collection. The project's idea is to turn women's voices into action through art and innovation.

The HerVoice collection comprises 3,905 NFTs, a number that poignantly represents the 3.905 billion women inhabiting our planet.

Each NFT in the collection is a unique blend of multiple art forms. They intertwine the realms of poetry, dance, and animation elements. Melissa Jun Rowley wrote the poem for the collection, which was recited by 26 women from various parts of the world. They embodied their home countries, where they shine as illustrious Web3 personalities and renowned leaders in the realms of art and social innovation.

Using static images of professional dancers Nneka Irobunda and Ty Jones-Bain, the animated film was brought to life with the help of artificial intelligence and the CreativeAya studio. The stunning transformation turned the images into a mesmerizing dance performance.

These remarkable women hail from challenging regions, including Iran and Afghanistan. Among them are Israeli women who actively champion civic causes, Ukrainian residents enduring Russia's war atrocities, and representatives from Syria and Turkey who have experienced the aftermath of devastating earthquakes.

HerVoice NFT sales proceeds will be directed towards supporting women's communities globally, with a particular focus on an educational program in the Web3 industry. The nonprofit organization CARE will oversee the program, which is dedicated to women and girls as change agents. In addition to the Web3 education initiative, CARE is involved in other educational programs that address issues such as hunger, climate change, healthcare, and financial literacy.
