🚀 Inflection AI Launches Formidable GPT-4 Rival
posted 7 Mar 2024
Artificial intelligence developer Inflection AI has introduced its latest creation, the Inflection-2.5 language model, powering its Pi personal assistant. Benchmarks indicate that this model competes on par with the likes of GPT-4 and Gemini, albeit requiring just 40% of the computational resources needed by GPT.
We’ve seen a very significant impact on user sentiment, engagement, and retention accelerating our organic user growth, state the developers.
Inflection-2.5 also excels in technical tasks and features the unprecedented ability to freely access the internet without time limits. For example, in routine operations, Inflection-2.5 delivers 94% of the efficiency seen with GPT-4, and in certain areas, its performance is virtually indistinguishable from that of the premier language model.
The developers caution that these evaluations were performed without internet model access, which might lead to differences in actual user experiences. However, they anticipate minimal impact on the model's overall efficacy. Inflection-2.5 is now available in the Pi web app, freely accessible in nearly every country.
Reminder: AI firm Anthropic has also recently launched its Claude 3 model, outperforming all current alternatives, GPT-4 included, across multiple benchmarks. However, Anthropic's free Claude chatbot version incorporates a scaled-down model variant, contrasting with Inflection AI's approach.
