The French company Champagne Avenue Foch offered a lot that exceeded the value of the most expensive wine in history. It was a sparkling wine from the limited edition “Magnum 2.5” of the year 2017. British entrepreneur and luxury industry enthusiast Shammi Shinh and artist of The Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT were involved in its creation.
The auction participants had the opportunity to purchase champagne made from the elite Premier Cru grape variety, a combination of Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay. The bottle became the twist of the lot: there are five NFTs from the legendary collections of The Bored Ape Yacht Club and The Sneaky Vampire Syndicate on it. The manufacturer gave 26.22 ETH for them.

According to the auction terms, after the purchase, the new proprietor obtains ownership of digital art objects. The price of the unusual champagne was in ETH, but amid the cryptocurrency market’s volatility, buyers paid in dollars.
Giovanni and Piero Buono are entrepreneurs working in the fashion industry and technology startups. Piero owns Good’s eyewear brand, and Giovanni is the co-founder of several digital companies and a crypto investor.
The brothers said they were in no hurry to open unique champagne:
There is a lot of turmoil in the investment world, things are changing geopolitically very quickly. Wealthy people will look for places to store their wealth for a while – and that could be a champagne with an NFT attached to it.
