Jeremy Cowart to Create 10,000 NFTs in 20 Minutes
"I'm not anti-AI but we can't lose sight of human processes that have been built over years," says Jeremy Cowart, an American artist and photographer who aims to revolutionize the Web3 space with his Auras project.
On May 2, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee (USA), Jeremy Cowart will challenge conventional notions of NFTs. He will put his creativity and artistic skill to the test against the formidable forces of artificial intelligence and generative art. Cowart aims to produce 10,000 one-of-a-kind NFTs in just 20 minutes, relying solely on his own technique and creative prowess. Through this challenge, Cowart hopes to showcase his honed and sophisticated creative approach, rejecting the use of AI and generators.

Auras: The artistic challenge to AI
The project centers around Jeremy Cowart himself, who will be dressed entirely in white attire, including a mask, essentially becoming a blank canvas. He will employ various tools to photograph himself, including:
- His own lighting techniques;
- Projection layers;
- Robotics;
- A 130-foot LED screen valued at $5 million and more.
The exceptional quality of Auras lies in the inherent rarity traits. They arise from the artist's autonomous efforts, without any interference from other photographers, illustrators, or software. The settings of the aforementioned tools provide access to six to eight distinct groups of characteristics.
What are projection layers? They're a feature of rarity showcased on a massive screen during an experiment. Cowart spent over a decade crafting photographs and paintings that fall under this category.
The Auras collection, which consists of 10,000 unique NFTs, will be minted on the OpenSea marketplace on May 9, 2023. The organizers have not yet revealed the cost of these exquisite art pieces, but they plan to announce it closer to the event. It's worth noting that 999 NFTs will be given away for free to Block Queens holders, which is another ingenious project by Cowart that was presented to the public in February 2022. Additionally, Cowart will reserve 301 Auras NFTs in his personal vault. This means that 8,700 captivating art pieces will be available for public sale.

Participants can choose to engage in the Auras NFT experiment either virtually or physically. However, the number of seats for the in-person event in Nashville is limited. Those who attend can anticipate a presentation of the project, the opportunity to interact with the artist and other creative individuals, as well as an open bar. Attendees will also receive a personalized portrait featuring the Auras technology. The cost of tickets for this event starts at $150.
