Justin Sun Secures a Place in Liberland’s Government

Justin Sun, founder of the crypto platform Tron, has won the test elections to the Congress of Liberland, a self-proclaimed microstate located between Croatia and Serbia.

After securing the victory, Sun was named the Acting Prime Minister of the country.

In a statement on the Liberland website, the election process was referred to as “entirely algorithmic.”
This system has a unique ability to eliminate doubt regarding election outcomes, a challenge faced by many countries still relying on traditional methods. We hope to be a pioneering example of what will soon become common practice,
officials from Liberland declared.
It’s not Sun’s first time in a high-ranking political role. In 2021, he was appointed as Grenada’s representative to the World Trade Organization.

Liberland embraces the “network state” framework, as proposed by investor Balaji Srinivasan, using blockchain to facilitate governance and uphold sovereignty.

While Liberland's algorithm-driven voting system offers a futuristic vision of governance, critics suggest that true recognition as a state will involve far more than just advanced technology.

Justin Sun's Vision for Liberland as Prime Minister

Sun envisions Liberland as not just a territory, but as a manifestation of libertarian ideals, where personal freedom, minimal government intervention, and economic autonomy prevail.
Our citizens live freely and thrive under this system,
Sun explained.
He stressed that Liberland’s governance model has attracted attention from prominent figures, including Argentine President Javier Milei and U.S. Congressman Ron Paul.

Sun also highlighted the endorsement of global innovators like Elon Musk, known for advocating reduced central control.

As Liberland's new Prime Minister, Justin Sun is pushing the concept of minimal governance, not just within his micro-nation, but as a template for the rest of the world. He argues that keeping the government lean can bring stability and prosperity without heavy-handed regulation.

It’s kind of funny that Justin is pushing for “micro” concepts in a country that’s already tiny. Not much room for big ideas, eh? Haha.

Interestingly, Liberland has no taxes or mandatory obligations to the state. The country’s idea of citizenship is also unconventional—anyone who shares its libertarian ideals is welcome, no matter where they come from.

Looking ahead, Sun envisions Liberland becoming the spiritual homeland for libertarians worldwide, akin to how the Vatican is seen as the center of the Catholic Church.
Liberland will be the heart of the libertarian movement,
Sun states with conviction.
