MFA and WhiteBIT's Chatbot Aids Over 3,000 Ukrainians
In June 2023, crypto exchange WhiteBIT and Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched a joint chatbot initiative to support Ukrainians overseas. Within its first six months, the chatbot handled over 3,000 requests from Ukrainian citizens in 72 countries around the world, from Norway to Australia.
Nearly 65% of the queries were related to consular services for Ukrainians either abroad or planning international trips. Additionally, Ukrainians were seeking information about conditions for entering foreign countries, support for temporarily displaced Ukrainians, temporary protection procedures, and social security. These topics represented 11% of all the queries the chatbot received.
Numerous inquiries have come from Ukrainians who previously resided in war-affected regions and are now living abroad. A significant portion of these requests originated from countries like Poland, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Additionally, since the security situation worsened in October 2023, there has been a notable increase in inquiries from Ukrainians residing in Israel.
Ever since the onset of the full-scale war, WhiteBIT has been committed to supporting Ukrainians globally. Partnering with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, particularly in providing current and verified information to Ukrainians abroad, became a priority for us. The six-month performance review since the chatbot’s inception shows our initiative is effective and in demand. We're pleased that the chatbot has significantly simplified and accelerated resolving issues related to document processing, temporary protection, and social welfare for our citizens, regardless of their location, explained Volodymyr Nosov, CEO of WhiteBIT.
As such, the chatbot by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and WhiteBIT has proven to be an effective tool for swiftly consulting on issues such as foreign entry regulations, arranging temporary protection, social security, returning to Ukraine, and consular services. By catering to multiple users simultaneously, the chatbot has significantly expanded the scale of assistance to Ukrainians abroad. It has enhanced the services of the Ministry’s call center, which started in June 2022 and has processed over 23,000 inquiries. Additionally, citizens can reach the call center at +38 (044) 224-57-20.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation with WhiteBIT in April 2022. Besides launching the 24/7 call center and chatbot, the Ministry's consulates were equipped with special technical devices for emergency aid to Ukrainian citizens abroad, and an inclusive initiative was launched for the hearing-impaired Ukrainian community in Europe.
