Mt. Gox trustee Nobuaki Kobayashi has secured approval from the Tokyo District Court to extend the creditor payout date from October 31, 2023, to October 31, 2024.
Originally hacked in 2011 and closed in 2014, Mt. Gox left its creditors with a loss of around 850,000 BTC.

While it's a setback for creditors, the crypto market can breathe a sigh of relief, as this delay helps prevent any immediate impact from former Mt. Gox clients selling their recovered assets.
