🔥 Much-Awaited Trial of Craig Wright Began in the UK Court
posted 6 Feb 2024
The UK Court began the trial of the Australian computer scientist Craig Wright to finally settle whether he’s the real Satoshi or not. This major debate in the crypto industry is already 8 years old.
The lawsuit against Wright was filed by the Crypto Open Patent Alliance, a non-profit company backed by Jack Dorsey. On the first day of the court hearings, COPA representative Jonathan Hough said Wright’s claim that he’s the Bitcoin founder is a “brazen lie.” He mentioned the scientist couldn’t bring any evidence for his words. On the contrary, the documents he provided raise more questions.
For example, the original Bitcoin White Paper was written on OpenOffice software, while the version provided by Wright was written on LaTeX.
Last year, Wright filed for Bitcoin-related copyright claims. COPA finds it has had a “chilling effect” on Bitcoin, driving developers away. The company’s request to the court is to declare Wright is not Nakomoto to prevent him from impeding the development of Bitcoin any further.
