Apple held its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), unveiling a slew of innovations centered around AI integration into their devices.
Most of the new features are grouped under 'Apple Intelligence' and will be integrated across the company's operating systems and apps.
The integration of ChatGPT 4 into Siri will enhance the assistant's capabilities, allowing it to query responses, interpret images and PDF files, and better understand spoken language. Paid ChatGPT subscribers will have access to the chatbot's premium features within Apple's applications.
Additionally, AI functions can be used for tasks like assisting in writing emails or generating images of conversation partners.
These Apple Intelligence features will be available on iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia this fall.
Other announcements included:
- More customization options in iOS 18, including support for color themes and widgets.
- The new macOS Sequoia will improve synchronization with iPhones and allow users to control their smartphones directly from their Mac.
- The ability to send messages via satellite directly from iPhones, similar to the SOS feature.
- A new Tap to Cash feature that will enable iPhone users to transfer funds by touching their device to another iPhone.
