Just when you thought it was over, it turned out not to be. Celebrities are still willing to promote crypto. Just ask Actor Adam DeVine.
Singapore-based crypto platform Bitget with regulatory licenses from the US, Canada, and Australia has a new crypto ad, featuring  Adam DeVine, one of the stars and co-creators of the Comedy Central comedy television series Workaholics and Adam DeVine's House Party.

He is the latest pick for the #SetForChange campaign following the company's recent rebranding initiative.

In a video available on YouTube that starts with the logo “Crypto and Beach Houses”, he stands on the stage with a phone his hand, talking to the camera.

“Just a sec, I gotta make sure that I win this digital auction for a super expensive, priceless piece of digital art that I’m hanging in my virtual beach house. Done. Got it,” he says cheerfully.

He goes on to state that thanks to his phone, he has become more than just an actor who is “the voice of his generation”, saying “and now look at me, a sophisticated art-collecting avatar. Straight up ballin’”

Devine goes on to state that in the modern world, everything is available at your fingertips: “If you wanna stream a movie on TV while shopping on your tablet while exploring decentraland on your phone, congratulations! We are living in the now than ever before.”

“But please read the reviews before buying anything because sometimes looks can be deceiving,” he adds, showing the difference between an online product and the its real-life form.

The ad concludes with the #setforchange hashtag appearing on the screen, telling the audience that Devine is a “paid actor” and that his views “should not be relied upon as specific recommendations or financial or other advice." Likewise, its authors clarify that the ad is not intended for distribution in the United States (including its territories or possessions) or to any U.S. person.

According to Bitget, this ad is part of its effort to promote crypto education and wider adoption “through an engaging and lighthearted approach.”

The exchange already has the Argentian football superstar Lionel Messi onboard. He serves as the company’s brand ambassador who gives his fans a unique opportunity to explore Web 3.0 and the potential of trading crypto on the exchange.

The ad comes amid a recent statement by another American actor Ben McKenzie who affirmed that having faced repercussions for their promotion of crypto businesses, including the imploded FTX, celebrities are legally done with crypto ads.

Previously, GNCrypto reported that Netflix banned cryptocurrency ads.
