🔥 OpenAI Dismisses Musk's Accusations
posted 3 Mar 2024
OpenAI, an artificial intelligence research and deployment company, has rebutted Elon Musk's claims of prioritizing profit maximization and violating their agreement on creating artificial general intelligence (AGI). This revelation stems from an internal memo obtained by Bloomberg.
Within this memo, Jason Kwon, the company's Chief Strategy Officer, labeled Musk's assertions as mere regret over missing the chance to participate in the company's endeavors. Kwon emphasized that OpenAI remains steadfast in its core values and maintains its independence despite substantial investments from Microsoft.
In a separate memo, CEO Sam Altman called Musk a hero of his and expressed disappointment that Musk had ceased fair competition by building new technologies. Officially, OpenAI declined to comment on the lawsuit and the disclosure of the two documents.
In the initial memo, Jason Kwon also referred to a recent inquiry by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as anticipated, given that Sam Altman's departure and subsequent return had raised several regulatory queries. Kwon affirmed that the company actively collaborates with governmental bodies to address these concerns.
