On July 25, OpenAI announced the development of a new prototype called SearchGPT. This tool will enable users to obtain quick and precise answers from relevant online sources.
The company recognizes that finding answers on the web often requires considerable effort and multiple attempts to get relevant results. To address this, OpenAI is enhancing its AI models to streamline the search process.

According to a blog post from OpenAI, this initiative includes collaborating with publishers and content creators to ensure that SearchGPT provides links to sources, helping users understand where the information originates.
AI search is going to become one of the key ways that people navigate the internet, and it's crucial, in these early days, that the technology is built in a way that values, respects, and protects journalism and publishers. We look forward to partnering with OpenAI in the process, and creating a new way for readers to discover The Atlantic,
Nicholas Thompson, CEO of The Atlantic.
While this prototype is temporary, OpenAI intends to incorporate its top features into ChatGPT in the future. Those interested in testing SearchGPT can join the waitlist.
