📣 Polygon's MATIC-POL Migration Kicks Off

Polygon PoS transitioned to using POL as the native token for gas fees, replacing MATIC, in the first stage of the token migration announced last year.
The MATIC-to-POL upgrade was automatic for users within the Polygon network, but MATIC holders on Ethereum can manually swap their tokens for POL at a 1:1 ratio through a dedicated service.
Future steps in the migration include integrating Polygon PoS with AggLayer (a new architecture designed to unify blockchains) and expanding the utility of POL beyond the Polygon network.
MATIC holders on Polygon PoS don't need to take any action, although some wallets may require a manual update of the token symbol. Further information is available at the link provided.
