📣 Prosecutors Set Their Sights on Do Kwon's Belgrade Apartment
posted 25 Mar 2024
The law enforcement of South Korea is set to confiscate the Belgrade apartment of Terraform Labs' founder, Do Kwon, situated in Serbia. Estimated at $2.2 million, the apartment is in the capital's elite district, populated by high-profile individuals like legislators, police officials, and entrepreneurs.
The apartment will belong to the Republic of Korea after the finality of the property confiscation procedure,Serbian prosecutor Boris Majlat announced.
The apartment has already been subjected to a police search. Its official owner, Terraform Labs' co-founder, Han Chang-joon, has been detained in South Korea. For the property's confiscation to proceed, the Serbian prosecutor's office needs to issue formal charges, as the court requires an indictment to make such a decision.
In the meantime, Do Kwon remains in Montenegro amidst ongoing legal deliberations about his extradition. A recent development suggests that the case may be escalated to the Supreme Court of Montenegro for a conclusive verdict.
