Salesforce CEO Promises Big AI Future for Slack
AI is becoming more and more popular. The widely-used messenger Slack is looking to integrate it too.
Marc Benioff, the CEO of Saleforce, has spilled the beans.
In an interview with CNBC’s Jim Cramer, he shed light on how the company’s messaging program Slack is involved with AI.
“The big news is Slack is really starting to wake up with its own AI,” Benioff said. “It holds so much data for our customers. I think Slack is going to be the promise of AI for a lot of our most important customers.”
He did not mention the exact names of those important customers, but he did touch on companies like OpenAI, Cohere and Anthropic. And said that “they are all Slack-first companies; they all built their product with Slack.”
He added that because the messenger is both a system of engagement and a system of record, it can start managing data.
Elaborating on the company’s product Einstein, he explained that it’s an AI program with capabilities aimed at assisting companies with CRM, customer relations management.
“Einstein will do a trillion transactions for our customers this week in AI, but we never look at the customers’ data,” he said, adding that there’s a special “trust layer” for that.
What is Einstein?
According to the company’s press release, Einstein Copilot “is a new generative AI-powered conversational assistant for every Salesforce application, baked seamlessly into the flow of work to drive significant productivity gains”
Claiming to protect sensitive data while letting companies use their trusted data to improve generative AI responses, it adds that it is being used to improve productivity, drive revenue and create personalized experiences. Big airports like Heathrow Airport in London are reportedly using the program.
The press release also states that those companies that are bolstering AI investments are “already reaping the benefits, freeing over 30% of employee time to drive revenue growth, cut costs, and deliver high-quality customer experiences and interactions.”
