📣 Scroll Faces Backlash Ahead of SCR Airdrop: Is It Justified?

Scroll, a Layer-2 project, is facing backlash ahead of the SCR airdrop. A user on platform X, named Andrew 10 GWEI, published a report suggesting connections between some wallets holding tens or hundreds of thousands of marks and those linked to the developers.
Scroll’s mark system acts as a form of rewarding user participation on its blockchain.
Recently, Scroll revealed the tokenomics for its upcoming SCR token, allocating 15% of the total supply for an airdrop. Initially, only 7% will be available to claim at the Token Generation Event (TGE) on October 22.
Andrew 10 GWEI's report highlighted one wallet that received over 1 million marks for providing liquidity (500,000 USDC) on the Aave protocol, despite having only two transactions in Scroll (token approval and liquidity supply).
He referenced Arkham Intelligence (albeit with some uncertainty) and cited transaction patterns as potential evidence linking these wallets to developers.
The user points to possible connections between certain wallets and developer wallets, citing tags from the project Arkham Intelligence (albeit with a question mark) and claims that there are transactions that allegedly suggest such a link.
However, it remains unclear whether marks will be the main criteria for the airdrop (if at all). Moreover, these wallets may not qualify for the airdrop due to other eligibility factors. Therefore, drawing firm conclusions at this stage might be premature.
