✨ SEC Concedes Error in Handling Debt Box Lawsuit
posted 22 Dec 2023
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued an apology for misrepresenting information in the lawsuit involving the crypto company Debt Box.
In this legal matter, the SEC had successfully persuaded a court to freeze the assets of the project, based on assertions that the company was shifting its operations to Dubai, a location beyond the purview of U.S. law.
Subsequently, it emerged that the SEC's assertions were not entirely accurate, leading to the court’s decision to overturn its earlier asset freeze order.
In response to these developments, the SEC has formed a new team to reevaluate the case and acknowledged that the hurried preparation of its legal submissions led to these mistakes.
Moreover, the SEC's legal representatives have promised to introduce compulsory educational programs for their staff involved in investigative tasks.
