Sharp Rise in Crypto Investment Among Turkish Adults
The proportion of crypto investors within Turkey’s 18-60 age bracket has surged by 12% in the last 18 months, climbing from 40% in November 2021 to 52% by May 2023.
Interestingly, nearly half (47%) of the crypto investors in the 18 to 30 age group are female.
31% of all crypto investors made their debut investment in the last three months, and 54% of those under 30 entered the market in the previous year.
Investors’ motivations include 58% aiming for future wealth, 37% for value storage, 25% for portfolio diversification, 34% for ease of transfers, and 17% for seeking quick profits and excitement.
Meanwhile, annual lira inflation is around 40%.
