🌋 Starknet Sets a New TPS Record Among Ethereum L2s
posted 3 hr ago
Starknet, an Ethereum Layer 2 network, set a new TPS (transactions per second) record.
The team shared a post on X where data from voyager.online shows the blockchain’s daily max transactions per second hit the 857 mark. For comparison, Starknet’s previous record was 503 TPS.
According to L2Beat, Starknet is now the fastest Ethereum Layer 2, getting ahead of Base, Taiko, Arbitrum One, and others.

Starknet said the new record was broken thanks to Cartridge, a gaming infrastructure behind the Flippy Flop game, which saw large community participation on the day. Flippy Flop is a tile-flipping game launched to demonstrate Starknet’s technical capabilities.
During the game, which has already ended, users flipped tiles and earned rewards in FLIP tokens. The interactive game was a brief experience for Starknet for users to test out different gaming features, like authenticators and reward claiming.
Starknet was launched on the Ethereum mainnet on November 29, 2021. It utilizes ZK-rollup technology, which stands for Zero-Knowledge Rollups. This technology enables Starknet to bundle multiple transactions into a single batch, significantly increasing throughput while maintaining the security and decentralization of the Ethereum network.
By using ZK-Rollups, Starknet can ensure that transactions are processed quickly and efficiently, with the added benefit of minimizing gas fees for users.
