✨ Uniswap Announces v4 Platform Update
posted 2 Jan 2025
Uniswap Labs has dropped hints about the upcoming Uniswap v4. Expect game-changing features like customizable Hooks for swaps, limit orders, user-driven oracles, and automated liquidity management.
The decentralized exchange Uniswap has unveiled plans for the long-awaited release of Uniswap v4. While initially set for Q3 2024, the launch was pushed back.
Hints about v4 have been circulating for months. On December 31, Uniswap Labs teased, “Between v4, Unichain, and a few other surprises... it’s going to be a very pink year,” promising an eventful 2025.
Earlier in February 2024, Uniswap announced that v4 would debut after Ethereum’s Dencun update, with a preliminary launch expected in Q3 2024. Despite the Dencun upgrade, however, v4 remains in its testing phase.
What’s New in Uniswap v4?
Uniswap v4 marks a new era for the platform, introducing architectural innovations that expand its capabilities. At the heart of this update is Hooks—a feature that empowers developers to embed custom code before and after token swaps.
This enhancement opens up a world of possibilities for tailoring the swapping process to specific use cases.
Imagine pre-swap Hooks ensuring conditions like sufficient balance or price compliance, while post-swap Hooks automate actions such as transferring funds to another wallet or notifying the user.
With Hooks, developers can seamlessly embed custom logic into the swap process, making Uniswap interactions smarter and more adaptable.
Uniswap v4 doesn’t stop there—it’s packed with features like limit orders, user-driven oracles, fee management, and automated liquidity tools. Expect dynamic fees, lower gas costs, instant accounting, built-in ETH support, and versatile liquidity pools to revolutionize your experience.
