More and more countries allow crypto as payment. Some of them, like El Salvador and Japan, have accepted cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin in particular, as a means of payment on a par with the local currency.
Around the world, you can count tens of thousands of companies seeking to accept cryptocurrencies as payment on a par with fiat money. Thus, they expand the list of payment instruments and increase the numbers of potential buyers. Let’s take a look at the most famous brands.
Microsoft
Allows users to top up with Bitcoin and order Windows software or any Xbox content. Microsoft became one of the first global brands that began to accept the Bitcoin cryptocurrency as a standard payment method in 2014. Unfortunately, this option is not available for all regions.
Apple
The Apple Pay application, thanks to a partnership with BitPay, accepts bitcoin and 12 other cryptocurrencies for payment. In addition to BTC, this payment provider supports such cryptocurrencies as Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, Litecoin, and others, as well as dollar-pegged stablecoins such as DAI, USD Coin, Gemini Dollar, Paxos Standard, and Binance USD.
Amazon
The world's largest online retailer allows you to pay for purchases with cryptocurrencies using the purse.io service or with gift cards from CoinCards or Bitrefill. Purse.io processes payment in BTC through the Lighting Network with automatic crypto-to-fiat conversion, so these transactions will be instant. eBay
Starting with 2015, eBay items could be purchased through the payment aggregator Braintree. Tesla
Starting in 2021, Tesla began accepting cryptocurrency as payment for electric cars and related services. It was only possible to pay with bitcoin for a short time, later it was removed, leaving only Dogecoin. This network’s joints accept cryptocurrencies in partnership with the NOWPayments service in various countries. This provider has built payment gateways with over 150 cryptocurrencies. In Venezuela or Germany, paying with bitcoins for food at Burger King has become commonplace. Also, this network, in partnership with Robinhood, arranges promotions for the distribution of Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin to members of its Royal Perks loyalty program. To participate, you need to place an order through the network application for at least $5 and have a Robinhood account.

KFC
Another world-famous fast food chain is ready to experiment with cryptocurrencies. For a limited time, KFC Canada locations accepted Bitcoin for the "Bitcoin Bucket". The company processed the payment through BitPay and delivered the food to the customer's home address. Currently, the American chain offers the possibility to pay for food in cryptocurrencies using gift cards from Bitrefill.

This chain of coffee shops makes it possible to pay with cryptocurrency for coffee and food thanks to a partnership with Bakkt. The Bakkt mobile application, which can be downloaded from Google Play and the App Store, allows not only to top up the balance of Starbucks cards with crypto, but also to buy, sell and exchange it. Also, since September 2022, this chain has implemented a new Starbucks Odyssey loyalty program based on blockchain technologies and NFTs with a very interesting Web 3.0 concept.

Coca-Cola Amatil is one of the world's largest producers and distributors of soft drinks. According to a report by CoinDesk, Australia and New Zealand had more than 2,000 vending machines that accept cryptocurrencies as payment for drinks by 2020. This was made possible thanks to the partnership with the Centrapay platform. In addition to Bitcoin and Ethereum, the service offers more than 100 other cryptocurrencies.
AT&T
This telecom provider has been accepting cryptocurrencies since 2019, partnering with BitPay, just like Apple. Through the mobile application or web-account of this payment 3PP (third party processor) users choose the necessary cryptocurrency for the calculation and indicate the recipient of the payment - AT&T.
Xiaomi
Xiaomi smartphones can now be purchased with cryptocurrency, but only in one country. Xiaomi's official retailer in Portugal - Mi Store Portugal - has started accepting cryptocurrency for payment on its network. The choice of cryptoassets is significant - Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether and Dash. This service became possible thanks to cooperation with the Swiss company Utrust. Utrust's own token (UTK) is also accepted for payment.
Shopify
The well-known Canadian company, which offers ready-made solutions for online stores around the world, started accepting Bitcoin as payment back in 2013. Since 2020, Shopify has expanded its partner list to allow cryptocurrency payments through platforms such as Coinbase Commerce, Crypto.com, Strike, BitPay, DePay, and OpenNode.
Gucci
Italian high-end clothing brand Gucci accepts cryptocurrency payments in collaboration with BitPay. Gucci accepts 12 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), Litecoin (LTC), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Dogecoin (DOGE) and five stablecoins pegged to the US dollar. A well-known website platform sells domains and website design modules for Bitcoin. WordPress offers account holders the ability to accept cryptocurrencies as payment thanks to its plugins. These plugins allow you to pay in Bitсoin, Dogeсoin, Liteсoin and other cryptocurrencies.

The first luxury watch company to accept virtual assets as payment is the Swiss brand Hublot. In Ukraine, you can pay with cryptocurrency in the several large retailer chains, including Varus, Foxtrot and WOG gas station chain. Payment is possible through Binance Pay. Also, many networks accept crypto via WhitePay, including Techno Hedgehog and Stylus. Previously, it was also possible to pay with cryptocurrency in the Citrus retailer chain, but the owners decided to remove this type of payment for some reason (we hope that it will only be temporary).
