Blockchain security company Match Systems has identified several developers behind the phishing app Angel Drainer, which promptly ceased operations. Preliminary assessments indicate that at least 35,000 users lost around $25 million due to Angel Drainer's activities.

The Celo Foundation, the entity behind the L1 blockchain Celo, has successfully launched the Dango L2 testnet. Developed on the OP stack, Dango is now part of the Optimism Superchain ecosystem, which includes other projects like Base and Zora. The deployment of this L2 blockchain is a key component of the community's plan for migration to Ethereum.

American company Morgan Creek Digital plans to raise $500 million for its new Web3 Venture Capital Fund, which will focus on artificial intelligence, blockchain technologies, chip manufacturing, and data processing. This initiative is part of the firm’s strategy to expand its presence in Europe, Africa, and other regions, building on its already managed assets of over $440 million.

Worldcoin has introduced its L2 blockchain, World Chain, for a limited number of developers to test and give feedback before the mainnet launch by the end of summer 2024. Developers can also pre-deploy their applications.

Lucky Uwakwe, Chairman of Nigeria’s Blockchain Industry Coordinating Committee (BICCoN), has called for the use of blockchain and artificial intelligence to preserve the languages of African tribes. He warned that community migrations due to security issues could lead to the extinction of many languages and dialects.
