The Australian Crypto Convention is a major industry gathering for Australia and the broader Asia-Pacific region. This event is organized by Cryptoden, a team of dedicated enthusiasts championing the mission of “Making Crypto Less Cryptic”.
Cryptoden anticipates that the 2023 Australian Crypto Convention will draw a crowd exceeding 15,000 individuals. The trend for widespread crypto adoption is gaining significant momentum in Australia. According to recent polls, 23% of Australians—nearly one out of every four—own cryptocurrency. And in 2023, Australia has been recognized as one of the world's most crypto-friendly countries.

Despite the current tumultuous state of the crypto market, the organizers of the Australian Crypto Convention recognize these as not merely times of hope but as an opportunity to host the largest regional event to date. In the lead-up to the convention, they released a video titled “Crypto Is Not Dead,” featuring a manifesto from Cryptoden that aims to rekindle the spirits of the crypto community.
They tell us we will never see the light of a bull run again, but we know better. We believe 2024 is going to be a transformational year for businesses, projects and builders in this space. We believe in the innovative genius of the Australian and APAC region. And, most importantly, we KNOW that crypto is NOT dead. This journey is only just beginning,
proclaim the organizers of the Australian Crypto Convention.
The convention is scheduled to be held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on the 11th and 12th of November, and it will feature multiple dedicated tracks for participants.

Keynote Theatre. This conference section will feature international experts who will impart their knowledge, share their experiences, and outline their visions for the future of the industry, including its prospective influence on the global economy. Australian speakers will also highlight the unique characteristics of the local industry.

All-In-One Blockchain Theater. This track is dedicated to Web3, catering to institutional investors, government regulation, NFTs, gaming, and innovative investment strategies. Speakers will discuss practical examples of how cryptocurrency and blockchain intersect with TradFi.

Institutional & B2B Theatre. Participants will explore ideas on bridging the gap between traditional finance and blockchain technology and learn how blockchain can be a transformative tool for both small-scale businesses and multinational corporations.

Workshop Zone. These are interactive educational sessions that range from teaching the fundamentals of blockchain to tackling advanced topics such as smart contract development.

Whale Lab. In this space, blockchain startups will present their concepts to a jury for a chance to win funding up to $500,000.

The Australian Crypto Convention will host presentations from:

  • Antonio Senatore, Vechain’s Chief Technology Officer. Prior to Vechain, he was Deloitte Global Blockchain CTO & Head of the Deloitte EMEA Blockchain Lab.
  • Bernhard Scholz, Full Professor in the School of Computer Science at The University of Sydney. Prof. Scholz’s blockchain research focuses on smart contract execution, security, and performance.
  • Eowyn Chen, Trust Wallet CEO. Previously, Eowyn was the VP at Binance, building and leading its central marketing team.
  • Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of MicroStrategy (MSTR).
  • Niki Ariyasinghe, Head of Business Development, Asia-Pacific and Middle East at Chainlink Labs.
  • Robbie Coleman, Creative Director at Litecoin.

The Australian Crypto Convention is expected to feature over 120 expert speakers.

Additionally, the convention's organizers suggest not missing the after-party at The Timber Yard, a celebrated venue in the Port of Melbourne. This isn’t only a place to enjoy a four-hour open bar but also an excellent setting for networking. With last year's after-party leading to the signing of deals worth over $1 million, it's an opportunity for mingling with peers, catching up on industry gossip, and perhaps even striking a lucrative deal.

Furthermore, it's worth mentioning that the summer of 2022 marked the launch of WhiteBIT’s Australian branch, expanding the reach of one of Europe’s biggest crypto exchanges down under.
