🌋 Circle Partners with HKT to Develop Loyalty Program Solution
posted 29 Oct 2024
Circle, the issuer behind the USDC stablecoin, has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Hong Kong’s largest telecommunications provider, HKT, to jointly create a blockchain-based solution for loyalty program management.
Circle's goal is to develop a universal product that will enable businesses to launch customized services, enhancing customer engagement through blockchain. This solution is set to strengthen the way consumers connect with merchants.
Together, we aim to deliver unique loyalty solutions that empower merchants to build deeper connections with their customers in Hong Kongsaid Monita Leung, CEO of HKT Digital Ventures.
Jeremy Allaire, co-founder and CEO of Circle, highlighted the potential of the partnership, viewing Circle’s Web3 Services as a frontrunner in improving customer experience.
Key components of Web3 Services include:
- Crypto wallets: Enabling startups and major IT firms to integrate blockchain assets seamlessly into their operations.
- Smart contracts: Supporting corporate applications directly on blockchain networks.
This collaboration aligns with Circle’s strategy to lead in the Asian market. As previously noted by Allaire, Circle is closely following regulatory developments in Hong Kong.
In early 2024, Circle also partnered with Japanese Bitcoin wallet provider Coincheck, bringing USDC access to retail users in Japan.
