Crypto data analytics platform Dune announced the acquisition of smlXL, another blockchain data provider.
smlXL provides insights on accounts, smart contracts, their relationships, and computing infrastructure through a combination of static and dynamic analysis, symbolic execution, simulation, and instrumentation. Founded in 2021, the company raised around $13.4 million in a 2023 funding round led by a16z.

With this purchase, Dune aims to expand its real-time multichain data offerings, making them more accessible to developers, company co-founder and CEO Fredrik Haga announced during the DuneCon event in Bangkok.

According to Haga, the acquisition will make it 10 times easier for developers to access flexible real-time data.

In addition to the smlXL acquisition, Dune announced other initiatives at the event, including the launch of Dune Echo, a platform that gives developers access to data across 30 blockchains, now available for use.
In a press release, Dune CTO Mats Olsen stated that Dune will equip developers with tools to build protocol frontends, simplifying development and enabling faster, more dynamic user experiences.

Another announcement from Dune was the introduction of the Dune Index, a metric aimed at measuring real blockchain adoption to help track and understand true activity on the blockchain.
