Alessandro Michele, the creative director of Gucci, continues to further merge fashion with blockchain technology and seek new digital pathways for the fashion brand’s evolution.
Gucci had purchased SuperRare DAO’s token $RARE for $25,000 which marks the brand’s entry into the NFT marketplace as a web3 art curator. As part of the brand’s web3 strategy, Gucci presented a new NFT art project “Vault Art Space”. The artwork from the series “The Next 100 Years of Gucci” will be available on the NFT marketplace SuperRare and is aimed to celebrate both Gucci’s heritage and its digital future.
The NFT exhibition will be divided into three ETH auction drops with works by 29 artists, all depicting Gucci’s “kaleidoscopic narrative”, thus uniting the brand’s past and present, but also embracing its innovative future. The first cryptoart drop includes digital works by such artists as Alana Vanacore, Aliina Kauranne, anchenillustration, Antoni Tudisco and others. Future drops will include artworks by Alex Trochut, Alexis Christodoulou, Aliendope, ALIENQUEEN, diberkato, Drew Young, etc.

The first release of the “The Next 100 Years of Gucci” is scheduled for June 23rd to July 1st,  the second for July 7th to July 15th, and the third for July 21st to July 29th.
Gucci is a leader in physical fashion and I am very confident that it will be a leader in digital fashion as well. I want to see Gucci continue to lean into web3 and NFTs, and continue to leverage this technology to embrace the future of fashion.
said one of the participating artists Antoni Tudisco in a comment for Highsnobiety.
Gucci is embracing web3 technology at full speed. Last month the Italian luxury brand partnered with 10KTF and launched its own virtual world “Gucci Town” where clients can earn in-house GG gems, create art pieces and shop limited NFT fashion items.
Gucci is not the only fashion player in the web3 game, as brands like Prada and Balenciaga have also entered the field. Earlier, Prada released a 100 piece NFT collection while Balenciaga started to accept crypto payments
