Not Your Bro NFT: Promoting Inclusivity in the Digital World
Not Your Bro is an NFT collection dedicated to supporting women, diverse minorities, and all those championing the expansion of their opportunities within the technology, blockchain, and digital realms.
The brain behind this collection is Natalie, an Australian illustrator and artist who is an alumnus of the London College of Fashion. In collaboration with Georgia, a former social worker turned entrepreneur, Natalie decided to not just create another digital collection but build a quality brand and foster a vibrant community where members of the LGBTQ+ community could actively engage with each other.
For instance, NYB formed a partnership with the e-commerce company Boohoo. This allowed them to sell their own merchandise. Meanwhile, the team organizes private events centered around connecting like-minded individuals in safe environments.
Following its launch, Not Your Bro donated 10% of minting proceeds to organizations selected by users and continues to regularly allocate a percentage of funds collected from licensing royalties. Moreover, the team established a public fund to support female artists, directing 5% of monthly royalties to the purchase of high-quality works to financially assist emerging creators. So far, Not Your Bro has generously donated nearly 100 ETH to various organizations, including OutRight Action International, the Malala Fund, Save the Children, and Girls Who Code. This benevolent act won them the NYC Awards 2022 for the most impactful charitable NFT project.
The work they do to help and support members of the LGBTQIA+ community worldwide is essential. From helping individuals who need support in countries where law enforcement agencies aggressively pursue and prosecute members of the LGBTQIA+ community, to recently helping LGBTQIA+ in Ukraine, comments Natalie, the founder and artist behind the Not Your Bro collection.
The collection comprises 10,000 unique NFTs (20 of which are exceedingly rare) boasting more than 250 distinct features. Owners enjoy perks such as discounts at the merchandise store, the ability to download a vector version of the image for printing, and free minting of commemorative micro-sets designed for specific events. Market prices kick-off at 0.02 ETH, and you can acquire these NFTs on platforms like OpenSea, LooksRare, and more.

Looking forward, Not Your Bro has plans to introduce staking and extend its reach to metaverses. The team has already launched a collection in IMVU, a popular metaverse for women, and owns two lands in Otherside, a project by Yuga Labs, facilitating a broad presence in virtual reality. NYB also intends to launch a centralized platform for NFT owners to connect, where they can earn bonus points for purchasing real-world goods, making donations, or buying into other upcoming collections (such as Not Your Demons, with a minimum market price of 0.007 ETH).

The collection serves as a stylistic reflection of each Not Your Bro member, collaboratively designed by Natalie and an African artist, Michelle. Its primary aim is to support people battling mental health issues. A significant portion (10%) of the funds raised is directed to The Trevor Project, an organization committed to preventing suicides among LGBTQIA+ youth. The NYD team plans to use the foundation of the main collection as a springboard for future growth.
