⚡ Ordinals Protocol Could Be Stopped After the Bitcoin Core Upgrade
posted 6 Dec 2023
Bitcoin Core developer Luke Dashjr has revealed that the forthcoming v27
update, designed to block spam in the blockchain, may inadvertently
disrupt the Ordinals protocol.
He argues that BRC-20 tokens were initially a scam and an assault on the
Bitcoin network, inflicting irreversible damage to its users. This
stance, however, has met with mixed reactions in the community.
Ongoing
discussions fuel speculation of a potential Bitcoin fork amid
disagreements. Luke maintains that the new spam filters will become a
standard policy, affecting both large mining pools and solo miners.
