🌋 Public Goods Network Announces Closure

Public Goods Network (PGN), a second-layer blockchain initiative backed by Gitcoin, is set to cease operations. The project will progressively scale down over the next half-year, aiming for complete closure by June 2024. This decision comes in the wake of a thorough evaluation of the platform’s performance.
"The decision was not easy, but a realistic evaluation highlighted challenges in our ability to meet our goals," the project's statement reads.
Developers pointed to significant operational costs and user engagement issues as primary hurdles. PGN was initially envisioned as a quality extension to Gitcoin’s suite of tools for supporting developers and social projects through donations.
