Shibacals: Authenticity Confirmed!
Shibacals, a venture from the Shiba Inu developers, is aiming to ensure the authenticity of items like clothing, toys, and collectibles by utilizing blockchain technology.
Continuing their forward motion, the team is building upon the future ecosystem of Shibarium, a protocol designed to scale Ethereum (L2 solution). This ecosystem will be comprised of the SHIB metaverse, the decentralized ShibaSwap exchange, the digital Shiboshis collection, and much more, utilizing the BONE token for transaction fees. Shiba Inu's lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, endorsed the creation of Shibacals, emphasizing the importance of ecosystem development in multiple directions, including tangible real-life items:
My efforts have been devoted to constructing a truly decentralized world that will not go quietly into the night as the fudders would make you believe.
Such a move is not surprising: there is a rapidly growing demand for authenticating physical goods via the blockchain, especially when it comes to incredibly rare collectible items. These advancements provide people with the opportunity to feel part of a genuinely unique series and test out new technologies in their everyday life.
However, Shiba Inu believes that such limited implementation is not enough, as many companies are offering similar products. Consequently, the team has allowed third-party projects, regardless of their chosen blockchain, to utilize Shibacals. They will be able to affix NFC tags, created by Hewlett Packard, to their branded items such as clothing, souvenirs, toys, and more. In the future, the developers aim to broaden the use cases of NFTs by leveraging blockchain functionality.

Alongside this, Shiba Inu is rolling out its own merchandise, including hoodies and toys, embedded with Shibacals tags, adhering to the ten main characteristics of collectible items: rarity, condition, demand, historical significance, authenticity, aesthetics, age, brand association, materials, and completeness of the set. Although even partial alignment with these traits does not necessarily render an item valuable, the team is particularly focused on authenticity, quality, and aesthetic appeal.
Shiba Inu is creating physical collectibles by employing top-notch fabric, handcrafting, and distinct designs. Each piece takes up to six weeks to produce, with its NFC tag directly linked to a unique Ethereum-based token from the get-go. However, the team's goal extends beyond merely releasing limited merchandise. They aspire to collaborate with global brands to maximize exposure. As evidence of this, they've already clinched a deal with Champion, a leading American clothing brand, to jointly launch Shiba Inu merchandise using the new tags.
At first I thought pinging Champion everyday on Twitter was a bad idea, but I was proven wrong!- © Shytoshi Kusama, Shiba Inu's Lead Developer.
