⚡ Yann LeCun’s Insights: The State of AI and Its Future

Meta’s Chief Scientist, Yann LeCun, believes that current AI systems are a decade away from achieving any semblance of sentience or common sense.
His viewpoint contrasts with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s recent statement that AI would be ‘fairly competitive’ with humans in less than five years.
LeCun suggests that Huang has a vested interest in promoting the AI field, referring to it as an ‘AI war’ in which Nvidia supplies the weapons.
“Text is a very poor source of information,” he says, “and there are many fundamental things about the world that they just don’t grasp through this kind of training.”
